LexiCart - is probably the fastest, lowest cost way to start selling on the internet... but I may be somewhat prejuduced... I wrote the program.

For years I tried to find low cost, easy to maintain shopping cart software for my customers, and whenever I found something that looked promising, it was almost always tied to one or more required service providers --- and their monthly fees.

A typical "starter store" can cost $400.00 to setup, and then cost $50-$100 a month in additional fees for; "e-commerce hosting", "credit card processing", SSL certificates, and possibly even a fee to the shopping cart software company.

Worse than the fees is the fact that with so many service providers involved, when something goes wrong you usually have to go through several rounds of finger pointing before a problem gets fixed.

Taking all this into consideration, when my 73 year old aunt asked me for help setting up a web site for her Gift and Jewelry business, I cringed at the thought of talking her through the maze of needed services.

My aunt (and several cousins) sell on eBay. They all want to try selling direct, via their own websites, but the cost in time alone to test the makes it prohibitive
