Google Advertises for Engineering Help on Moon
Want a job that's out of this world?

MOUNTAIN VIEW, (CA) - Google webmasters are either running the biggest April Fools joke on the net today, or they have really set their sights high... How High? To the moon (..Alice, zip, pow, bam!).
Ok, enough typ-o-pun Ralph Cramden impressions... The google guys outdid themselves with a less than obvious gag for this First fine day of April in the year Two Thousand and Four.
Even if it is a joke, it raise good questions.
Would the solar energy and lunar cooling be enough of an incentive to someday operate server farms on the moon?
Could optical or particle transmission between earth and the servers be engineered?
If the IPO ever goes, and they raise enough, who know... Google may just book some space on the next shuttle, or maybe contract for a custom built commercial space craft... I would expect more news about the project the same time next year --- at the very beginning of April.
