BBS Graphics Developments

Press coverage of software or graphics by LexiPixel staff:

	Tip, Traps & Techniques for TBBS, (PCIG, 1994, ISBN# 1-879705-02-8), mentions ProMenu a multi emulation graphical menu editor. The program was written by Randy Harris, owner and lead developer at LexiPixel. In the book's Third Party Vendors Reference, (pg. 285), a description of Harris' software calls it "...the best thing since sliced bread."
	Running a Perfect BBS, (QUE, 1994, ISBN #1-56529-919-1), mentions ProMenu and includes a screen capture of the program (in ANSI mode). Although HTML was not yet an accepted standard protocol, ProMenu contained all the essentials of HTML design including mouse-clickable regions (for buttons and clickable images or text) using RIPscrip and also a scalable vector based drawing system.
	Framingham, An American Town, (Hist. Soc., ISBN #0-9700772-1-1), uses a photograph of the Framingham High School (pg. 332) from a series of aerial photos by Randy Harris from 1997, when he owned www.framingham.com. Harris is lead developer at LexiPixel.com.
Click Image or Click Here to Read Article	1995-96, Lexipixel.com lead developer Randy Harris creates some of the first online community websites.  As a prototype, in 1995 he created framingham.com and had worked on the "community website / local content" idea for two years before launching the site. Harris developed CGI based, database driven, multi-user applications for the community websites including online colaborative calendars, self-serve classified ads systems, message boards, and other applications to automate data entry, content management and site operation. His software has been used on sites from California to Maine, as well as Canada, Mexico, and dozens of other countries. With Harris's background in BBS and early networked information system engineering, he easily made the transition from a mostly dial-up BBS world of the 1980's and early 1990's to the wide-spread use of the internet and web based information distribution.
